Jim Taricani works with DK Communications cultivating and servicing clients for the firm. Taricani is a former award winning journalist as well as a communications director for former Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Almond. Taricani’s media experience also extends to radio and print journalism. He has been featured in Rhode Island Monthly Magazine and various other publications. With nearly four decades of journalistic experience, Taricani has first hand knowledge of the mind set and techniques of reporters. He knows what reporters look for, especially in crisis situations.
Taricani has won four television Emmy awards, the Edward R. Murrow award for investigative reporting as well as the prestigious Yankee Quill Award. While he was communications director for the Almond administration, he developed a statewide political message and strategy. In this role he supervised a press office of 5 people.
As a reporter, Taricani has covered numerous federal, state and local political campaigns. He is well versed in both political and campaign strategy. Taricani is well known and respected in the Rhode Island community. He was the youngest person ever to be inducted into the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame.
